NORTON SHORES, MI – The Mona Shores football program found itself in an unfamiliar position entering its Week 2 non-conference showdown with River Rouge on Friday night.

The Sailors were 0-1 to start the season for the first time since 2011, which coincided with head coach Matt Koziak’s first year at the school. Mona Shores went on to win two state championships and register five double-digit win seasons after that and had no intentions of falling back on the standard they had set.
