The fall chill has settled in this weekend as morning temperatures dipped into the mid and lower 40s. Temperatures stay cool all weekend before summer warmth returns next week.

A couple patches of clouds help to keep temperatures in the mid-40s around the metro this morning, but many parts of the state saw morning lows fall into the lower 40s, with northwest Iowa even seeing some 30s before sunrise. Plenty of sunshine is on the way today but it will be on the chilly side through the morning hours.
