A north west man among those killed in the Lisbon funicular crash was 'misidentified' because of a football top, it has been reported.
Couple William Nelson, 44, and Kayleigh Gillian Smith, 36, have been named as two of the three UK nationals killed in the tragedy. They are believe to have been from Macclesfield, Cheshire.
An 82-year-old man also was killed is believed to have been British.
On Friday (September 6), Portuguese police revealed a 46-year-old German man, said to be among the dead, was in fact alive and recovering in hospital. His son, three, was also pulled alive from the wreckage alongside his partner who remains in hospital.
