A man's body has been found inside a vehicle on a Leicester road. Police were called to Beaumont Lodge Road in Beaumont Leys following concerns for the man's welfare.

Officers attended the scene at 6.19am today (Saturday, September 6) alongside East Midlands Ambulance Service and found the man - who has not been named publicly - dead inside the vehicle. It had been parked in Beaumont Lodge Road when the discovery was made.

The man's death is not being treated as suspicious, said a police spokesperson, and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner. Officers said identification of the deceased is a matter for the coroner.
