London Heathrow Airport (LHR) will lose one of its longest nonstop routes in November as Hainan Airlines discontinues its 6,000-mile service to Haikou Meilan International Airport (HAK). Hainan currently operates a weekly flight between London and Haikou each Wednesday with a block time of 11 hours and 50 minutes.
The Chinese carrier will use the freed-up slots to add another weekly frequency to its Changsha Huanghua International Airport (CSX) pairing. This flight will then continue onwards to Haikou with a connecting time of over three hours in Changsha.
