A pedestrian has been seriously injured and a man arrested following a collision in Leicestershire . Police said the incident involved an electric bike, and a 19-year-old has been arrested.

Officers were called to Normandy Way, Hinckley , at 1.41am this morning (Saturday, September 6) following reports that a pedestrian had been injured in a collision. The pedestrian, a man in his 40s, remains in hospital in a stable condition.

The road was closed to allow emergency services to respond and has since reopened. A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said "A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and remains in police custody."

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the collision or the circumstances leading up to it to come
