2023 was an emotional year for Beatles fans. Paul McCartney , Ringo Starr, and George Harrison and John Lennon 's families surprised the world with the release of a previously unheard track. Originally a home recording of Lennon's from the mid-70s, "Now and Then" finally came out over 40 years after Lennon recorded the demo in his New York City home. It's considered to be the last Beatles song, as it features old guitar recordings Harrison did in the '90s. But why did they wait so long to put it out? They tried to release it in 1995, but for many reasons, they couldn't make it work. That was, until they met Peter Jackson , who gave them the key to finally making the song all it could be.
