Netflix is set to add a crime drama described as "gut-wrenching" to its catalogue, with the programme having previously broadcast on the BBC across two seasons.

Every instalment follows a different protagonist as they wait for their courtroom judgement, taking audiences back through the circumstances that led to their charges. The anthology features an impressive ensemble cast including Christopher Eccleston, Andy Serkis, Sean Bean, Anne-Marie Duff and others.

The show claimed an International Emmy for outstanding drama series in 2011, and subsequently inspired an American adaptation.

The programme is Accused and it arrives on Netflix on September 10. READ MORE: Netflix adds 84% rated horror 'masterpiece' that's acclaimed director's 'best work' READ MORE: KPop Demon Hunters
