Ithink there is a misapprehension that those of us in the mental-health field who write self-help books do so from a clinical distance and without personal experience with the content that we present. In the case of my new book, Overcoming Panic and Panic Attacks (Sheldon Press, 2025), this could not be further from the truth. I do not exaggerate when I say that I lived this book. As someone who knows that panic and panic attacks are real, horribly uncomfortable, and extremely life-disrupting, I was compelled to write the book to help those who fell there is no way out of the panic loop.
