The University of Lethbridge kicked off a new season of classes with a fresh new look on Monday.
The University unveiled their new rebrand and identity at the Science Commons that uses elements of the sun from their past logo, tipi poles and an open centre. Faculty and staff say the new identity pays homage to their connection with the local Indigenous community and invites new perspectives.
The new rebrand was a community effort that took over a year of planning and consulting with over one thousand university members, including students, faculty and stakeholders to create an evolved perspective to their new logo.
The rebrand maintains the current blue and gold colours and continues to keep their Fiat Lux motto, which is Latin for “Let there be light.”
