For weeks, many people in Greenville, located in Hunt County, were in the dark about their utility bills. The city said the problem has been fixed, but is still working to get to the bottom of how it happened and who is responsible.

Customers of Greenville Electric Utility System expressed concern over their utilities during the summer after realizing they couldn’t even see their payment amounts.

On August 5th, a cyber breach was identified. The attack disrupted several city technology systems, including police records and utility accounts.
