Elms is in his 13th consecutive season with the Provincial Junior Hockey League club. He spent six of them as a player and then moved behind the bench to join Darren Young’s staff as an assistant coach in 2019-20.
The new role requires more phone calls, Elms joked, but there’s also more freedom to put his stamp on the team after a second-round loss to New Hamburg last season.
