After nearly 30 years of service, Woodstock police Chief Rod Wilkinson has retired from the city’s police force.
A news release on Tuesday from the Woodstock police service board announced Wilkinson’s “extraordinary career”, spanning almost three decades “dedicated to public safety, leadership and community service”, had come to an end.

“I’ve made the decision to step away from my professional role permanently to focus on personal priorities,” Wilkinson stated in the release.
“This has been a meaningful chapter in my life, and I’m deeply grateful for the support, friendships and experiences I’ve had along the way. Thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey.”
