Ernest Hemmings loves Philadelphia. “It’s a wonderful city,” they enthuse. “It’s amazing what Philly has to offer in terms of the arts and community.”

Hemmings is a drag artist and theater auteur who has called Las Vegas home for 25 years. Their affection and familiarity with Philadelphia has grown over the past few years as Hemmings has brought a series of successful one-person shows to town — most notably a successful Fringe show two years ago, “Everyone Loves Dick.”

Hemmings will be making the trek to Philly again later this month in connection with the Cannonball Festival, where they will be presenting their one-person show, “Dijon” — which they wrote, directed, and star in — as part of this year’s Fringe Festival.
