Due to water damage and other structural deficiencies, the affordable housing project at 101 McNaughton Ave. W. may need more than $9 million in additional funding, subject to surety coverage, Chatham-Kent council heard Monday.

Total costs to complete the modular 27-unit project are estimated at $19.2 million, stated a staff report, with completion and occupancy expected next year.
