LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - New developments have been made in the case that sentenced a man to death for the murder of two children in Webb County nearly ten years ago.
In 2016, Demond Depree Buntson was sentenced to death for the 2012 murder of two children, one of whom was his own. At the time, this marked the county’s first death sentence in nearly 30 years.
Back in early February, KGNS was granted an interview with Buntson inside the prison where he is being held. However, the interview was cut short when he stated that he was not ready to speak, despite having initially approved the request for the interview. Additionally, Buntson’s attorneys have claimed that several errors occurred during the trials.
