DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — District 2 commission candidates Phillipe Kirksey and Derrick Tiller are getting ready for round 2 in District 2 next week which will determine who will serve the district for the next four years.
"It's a tiring race but I'm excited the bell is going to ring on the 16th and we are going to see who is still standing and the victor," Phillipe Kirksey said.
"We have been fighting hard over the last few months and then we'll see the results of the labor," Derrick Tiller said.
Last month, it was a close race Kirksey received slightly over 300 votes while Tiller trailed behind by 19 votes. However, it was not enough for either candidate to win outright.
"Alot of people didnt even know they had to go back and vote again so we have been doing voter education into our area
