The 23-year-old passenger, referred to as Jane Doe, was kicked out of an Uber after she vomited in the car, leaving her stranded without her phone. She was later assaulted by strangers who had offered her help. Attorneys argue Uber was negligent, noting the company markets rides as a safe option for people who have been drinking but allows drivers to abandon passengers. Uber issued a statement expressing sympathy but did not comment on the case. Sacramento police continue to investigate.
