WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — It looks like Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools' search for a new permanent superintendent could last longer than previously expected.
At Tuesday night's Board of Education meeting, district officials said they will likely hire a second interim superintendent once current interim Catty Moore's contract ends on November 30. Board members said the state will help the district's search for the second interim superintendent.
Moore is filling in for former superintendent Tricia McManus, who retired from her position earlier this year amid the district's budgetary crisis. Earlier this year, Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools hired Summit Search Solutions to recruit candidates for the superintendent position.
The service was set to cost the county $45,000, but the Wi
