GALVA, Iowa (KTIV) - For the Galva-Holstein school district, officials asked voters to renew the funding stream known as S.A.V.E., which stands for Secure an Advanced Vision for Education.
The unofficial results sent to KTIV show voters approved the renewal with 184 votes in favor and just 14 against. It needed a simple majority to pass.
This is not a new tax, and voters are paying the same sales tax regardless. This was just asking if the district can continue to use the statewide sales tax money to pay for school infrastructure, including things like building projects, remodels, and bus garages.
It can not be used to pay for people, including their salaries.
