The Orange County School Board passed its new budget and millage rates during a meeting Tuesday night that also included discussion of the state's new vaccine mandate changes.

The 2025-26 school year budget is about $7.5 billion, and millage rates are slightly lower than the 2024-2025 rates. Latest Forecast

School board members said the district has not gotten the funding it needs from the state for staff salaries.

"We are struggling with this money, this whole thing about having money on paper but not really having it. That to me is so deceptive. It's just wrong," Vicki-Elaine Felder, who represents District 5, said.
