Anchorage Police Chief Sean Case says investigators are still piecing together what happened in Mountain View early Tuesday morning.

Around 3 a.m., officers received a call after shots were heard near the snow dump, south of Mountain View. Responding officers found two people dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

Police reviewed surveillance video showing at least one victim crossing the street with a shopping cart just before the shooting. Chief Case emphasized there were no homeless camps or tents in the area.

As of Tuesday morning, detectives were interviewing people considered “persons of interest,” though it’s unclear if any will become suspects.
