TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Five people are now in custody for stealing oranges in Tulare County.

Monday afternoon, sheriff's deputies were called to Orange groves near Avenue 228 and Road 203 where they spotted suspicious tire tracks.

Authorities followed them to a home in Lindsay.

A search warrant was served at the location, where evidence of the theft was discovered.

The victim identified the crop with an estimated value of $1,000.

The stolen fruit was recovered and returned.
