A thug with 25 domestic violence callouts in five years has been jailed after strangling his latest girlfriend and hurting her dog.

Micah Williams got into a row with his partner at Oriel House tower block in Solihull shortly before 4.30pm on June 22 this year, prompting a report to police from a neighbour.

He wrestled the lead of her dog from her causing the animal to lift up from the ground and then escape.

Williams then grabbed his partner by the neck on a stairwell inside the flat block.

The 36-year-old of Hampson Close, Sparkbrook admitted strangulation and animal cruelty.
