Dumfries and Galloway has been named the best place in Scotland to see wildlife this autumn.
Outdoor experts Millets looked at the number of mammals, birds, fish, amphibians and insects spotted in each area of Scotland last autumn.
And Dumfries and Galloway was top of the pile, with 35 species spotted for every square kilometre.
Galloway Forest Park and Mabie Forest are ideal for wildlife, including red squirrels and deer.
Author and outdoor enthusiast at Millets , Natalie Wolfenden, said: “Scotland is home to an incredible variety of wildlife that thrive during the autumn months.
“While the weather is still relatively mild, it’s the ideal time to head outdoors and enjoy what nature has to offer.”
