Welcome to the Procore Championship: ordinarily the PGA Tour’s opening event for FedEx Cup Fall but now a preview of the U.S. Ryder Cup team.

American captain Keegan Bradley , wanting to avoid the runup to the 2023 Ryder Cup in which most of the U.S. players were idle for most of the weeks between the Tour Championship and the matches in Rome, requested that the players in this year’s team get in a tune-up in Napa, Calif., at the Silverado Resort beginning on Sept. 11.

Ten of the 12 Ryder Cup players are entered. The only one who declined was Xander Schauffele. Bryson DeChambeau is not eligible because he left the PGA Tour in 2023 to join LIV Golf.

That means a field normally populated with players scrambling to make the top 100 on the final money list to keep their cards for 20
