SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Fifty-one infill housing projects are already in various stages of development throughout the Moreland neighborhood.

Last week, City Council voted to add five more to the list.

Council approved the sale of five city-owned parcels to K&W Ohio Construction for $1 apiece.

The Willoughby Hills-based builders will now have six months to receive all necessary approvals from the city.

With final designs under review by the city’s planning department, K&W principal Waleed Alabsi hopes to start construction in mid- to late fall on four vacant lots in the Transit Village Community Reinvestment Area (CRA) and one in the Southern Moreland CRA.
