NEW YORK − Two seriously cool things happened for the Detroit Tigers in Yankee Stadium on Monday night.

One on the field.

The other behind closed doors after the Tigers rolled to an impressive 12-2 victory in the first game of a three-game series against the Yankees on Sept. 9.

So, let’s start with the one on the field. When Gleyber Torres was announced to the crowd in Yankee Stadium, a place where he had played for seven years before joining the Tigers, the fans gave him a nice, warm ovation and a few stood.
