OLDHAM COUNTY, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) - The Texas Department of Public Safety released information on a Monday evening crash near Vega in Oldham County, which killed three people from Arizona, including one child.
Texas DPS officials said the crash happened at around 6:35 p.m. on Monday on I-40, one mile west of Vega. A semi-truck was traveling eastbound on I-40 near an unoccupied semi-truck, and a Honda Pilot was traveling westbound.
The eastbound semi-truck "failed to maintain a single lane," according to Texas DPS, and veered onto the shoulder and hit the back of the unoccupied semi-truck. The eastbound semi-truck then crossed through the center median, entered the westbound lanes directly in the path of the Honda Pilot and struck it head-on.
