TEMPE, Ariz. — A home sustained heavy damage after a fire early Wednesday morning.

Crews from Tempe and Phoenix responded to a home near Baseline Road and 48th Street and found an electric vehicle and charging port engulfed in flames. The fire reportedly occurred around 1 a.m. and spread from the carport to the home.

Officials said a man, woman and dog escaped the home before the fire overtook the house. Authorities towed away the damaged vehicle in case of any re-ignition incidents.

No injuries were reported from the fire.

The incident is under investigation.
