The Masonic Hall in Goldsmith Street will be opening its doors to the public

Buildings which are usually closed off to the public will be throwing open their doors. More than 80 different events are taking place across Nottinghamshire during this year's Heritage Open Days.

This is a chance to explore hidden places and try out new experiences. There will be exclusive tours, talks, and family-friendly events. England's annual celebration of history and culture will take place from September 12 to September 21. Best of all, it's all free.

One of the buildings granting public access for the first time in decades is The People's Hall, a Grade II* listed building and one of Nottingham's most important historic townhouses in Heathcoat Street, Hockley .
