HORACE — West Fargo Horace’s Cason Borchardt will soon be taking his talents to the Pacific Northwest.
Borchardt announced his commitment to the University of Oregon Tuesday night via social media.
“I’m super pumped up,” Borchardt told The Forum. “I couldn’t be more thankful for (head coach Mark Wasikowski) and his staff for giving me this opportunity. I’m really excited to go on campus.”
Borchardt, who was named to the all-state roster, proved a key cog for the Hawks last season. He maintained a .402 batting average and drove in 34 runs, and held a 3.02 earned-run average on the mound with 56 strikeouts in 44 innings.
He said he’ll both hit and pitch with the Ducks.
