Star Trek Day has come and gone, but amid the new series in the works, including the long-awaited Starfleet Academy , a new animated kids' show , and a scripted podcast, there was no announcement of a new Star Trek movie. However, another member of J.J. Abrams ' Enterprise crew is eager to return. Zachary Quinto talked Trek with Collider's Christina Radish when he sat down to discuss the second season of his NBC medical drama, Brilliant Minds .

Says Quinto, when asked if he'd be interested in doing another film in the rebooted "Kelvin-verse," and whether the recently completed merger between Paramount and Skydance has sparked optimism about a revival:

"I would absolutely love to do another Star Trek movie. I don’t understand why we haven’t done one yet
