LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Last year more than 400,000 music fans flocked to Louisville for two of it’s largest music festivals: Bourbon and Beyond and Louder Than Life.

Just over 24 hours away from the start of these busy weekends, metro leaders are gearing up to put Louisville on the world stage yet again.

Louisville Tourism predicts the two events will generate more than $42 million in economic impact. In the grand-scheme of things that’s a small number compared to earnings from the Kentucky Derby, which see’s economic impact in the $400 million range, but tourism officials said these festivals rank high in events that bring people and money to Louisville.
