A Met Office meteorologist has provided an update on whether the first named storm of the year could hit the UK this weekend, after recent reports suggested strong winds and heavy rainfall are on the way.
A deepening area of low-pressure, which looks set to develop over the North Atlantic in the coming days, has caused some forecasters to speculate that Storm Amy could make an appearance before the week is out.
