The Mason City Civil War Council will hold its annual re-enactment Friday through Sunday in East Park.
There will be free music, infantry and artillery drills, battle and medical demonstrations, a Civil War-period ball, and food vendors onsite. Camps are open all weekend to visitors who want to talk to the reenactors.
Here's the schedule for the weekend:
Friday, Sept. 12: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., camp set-up and educational activities for schoolchildren; 4 to 6 p.m., open camp.
Saturday, Sept. 13 : 9 a.m., camps open to public; 10 a.m., artillery and infantry drill; 11:15 a.m., dunking of Mary Ragan; 1 p.m., Battle of Belmont, Missouri; 3:30 p.m., pie auction; 8 p.m., military dress ball; 10 p.m., night fire; 11 p.m., camps close.
Sunday, Sept. 14: 9 a.m., camps open
