KALAMAZOO, MI ­­–– We might only be entering Week 3 of Michigan’s high school football season, but teams around Kalamazoo are already emerging as dynamos.

And that starts with Portage Central.

Through two weeks, the Mustangs have not only looked like the most dominant team in the Kalamazoo-area, but they also look like one of the most complete teams in Division 2. Shutout victories over perennial powers East Lansing and Forest Hills Central prove that.

But other Southwest Michigan squads have also made significant noise to start the season, as we look to highlight those teams in a fresh set of power rankings entering Week 3.
