GULFPORT, Miss. ( WLOX /Gray News) - A Mississippi man is facing charges after police said he stole a car during a test drive and kidnapped a dealership employee.
Police in Gulfport said 33-year-old Reginald Donovan Johnson has been charged with armed robbery, armed carjacking and kidnapping.
On Monday, Johnson posed as a customer at a dealership who was interested in test-driving a vehicle, officials said.
During the test drive, police said Johnson brandished a weapon, kidnapped the employee and forced the victim to drive to a different location.
Authorities said Johnson then stole the victim’s phone at gunpoint, forced them out of the car and took off in the stolen vehicle.
Officers were able to track down the stolen vehicle and arrest Johnson.
