Variety will present Ethan Hawke with the Variety Virtuoso Award at Miami Dade College’s (MDC) the Miami Film Festival GEMS on Sunday, Nov. 2. The event will take place at Miami Dade College Wolfson Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. The honor will be for his achievements over more than three decades in the industry across film, theater and television. His new FX drama series “The Lowdown,” which he stars in and executive produces, will debut on Sept. 23; “Blue Moon, his upcoming film with longtime collaborator Richard Linklater, will release on Oct. 17. The 12th Miami Film Festival Gems is scheduled Oct. 29 – Nov. 5, 2025, and will continue its tradition of celebrating this year’s top films and award contenders.
