NEW BEDFORD — The opening to the Board of Health’s Aug. 8 meeting was interrupted for about two minutes by a “Zoom bomb,” which the FBI describes as videoconferencing disruption by “pornographic and/or hate images and threatening language.”
It was shortly after the 6 p.m. Zoom meeting opened that the screen was taken over in the manner described by the FBI. The video disruption was pornographic and the language was vile.
There were a little over 40 people in the Zoom meeting at that time. The disruption wasn’t directed at anyone in particular or any topic on the agenda that night, which included a review of the controversial site suitability application for a trash transfer station in the New Bedford Business Park.
