Cumberland, MD – A Western Maryland restaurant manager’s routine stop at a local Sheetz turned into a six-figure surprise when he won $140,569 playing the Maryland Lottery’s FAST PLAY Lucky Numbers game.

Scott Twigg, a Cumberland resident, claimed the progressive jackpot prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore on Sept. 9, just two days after purchasing the $10 ticket. He said the win will help him buy a home, a car and boost his savings, though he plans to keep working full-time.

Twigg had originally stopped at the Sheetz on Virginia Avenue to cash in about $100 in previous Lottery winnings and intended to buy a MONOPOLY™ scratch-off.
