Tre Hawkins, who showed early promise at cornerback after being selected in the sixth round of the 2023 draft by the New York Giants, is no longer part of the organization.

Hawkins was waived from Injured Reserve on Tuesday with an injury settlement. The 25-year-old out of Old Dominion had been waived/injured when the Giants trimmed their roster from 90 to 53 players. He went unclaimed and reverted to injured reserve with the Giants.

Hawkins surprisingly won a starting job as a rookie with an impressive training camp. That lasted only three games, though, as he struggled. He played sparingly the rest of the 2023 season.
