A 27-year-old man found dead in a car outside South Shore Hospital last month is being remembered by the Maine restaurant where he worked as head chef as "a living example of dedication, growth, and perseverance."
Declan Perry died on Aug. 23, a day after prosecutors say he met up with 42-year-old Christopher Caron at his home in Scituate and purchased cocaine and fentanyl. Prosecutors have charged Caron with killing Perry , but have not said how he died.
Perry worked at the Grill Room and Bar in Portland, Maine, which remembered him in a post on Facebook as the "creative heart of our kitchen."
Perry began working at the restaurant as a teenager in an entry-level role. Over time, in part thanks to “undeniable talent,” he worked his way up to head chef.
