A local girls softball team is now forever immortalized in their home township. Article content

On Monday, the Johnstown Jewels U15 girls softball team was recognized by the Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal for their recent victory at the provincial championship. Article content Article content

The Jewels won all six of their games during the tournament en route to becoming the best team in the province.

While wearing their signature purple uniforms, the team was presented with a commemorative scroll and an official proclamation that Aug. 24, 2026 will be known as Johnstown Jewels Day in the township.
