New York State Police have accused a Walden man of possessing images of children being sexually exploited.
Joseph Reardon, 44, of Walden, was arrested Sept. 6 and charged with possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child under the age of 16, a felony.
Troopers said they began an investigation in December 2024 after they received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
A joint investigation was conducted by State Police Troop F's Computer Crimes Unit the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Reardon is accused of possessing and accessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation material.
After his arrest, Reardon was brought to the state police barracks in Montgomery, where he was processed
