Colleen Hoover is back.

The author announced the release date and cover of her long-awaited new book, "Woman Down," in an exclusive clip aired on TODAY on Sept. 10.

"It is a thriller, probably one of the darkest books I've written so far," Hoover said.

"Woman Down" is set to be released on Jan. 13, 2026 via Amazon Publishing, and is available to preorder today .

The book follows a frustrated author who goes to a secluded lakeside cabin for inspiration, and when a detective shows up with disturbing news, her creativity comes back.

But when the investigator starts taking his role in her life too seriously, the author must confront her past and reclaim her own reputation.
