DENVER (KDVR) — A Nobel laureate known for her best-selling book, "I Am Malala," is coming to Denver after her newest novel is released.
Malala Yousafzai is from Pakistan and is known for her activism in education. According to the Nobel Prize, Yousafzai spoke out against the Taliban, who took over her valley and burned girls' schools down. Yousafzai was shot in the head on a school bus in 2012.
Yousafzai survived and went on to write "I Am Malala," an award-winning autobiography. She was also one of TIME magazine's “100 Most Influential People in the World” in 2013 and spoke at the United Nations when she was 16 years old, advocating for the equal right to education for girls. She was the youngest to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014.
