LAWRENCE — What DeShawn Hanika experienced this past weekend, during a rivalry game at Missouri, is something he will always remember.

Hanika, a redshirt senior tight end for Kansas football, described it as an unbelievable environment in Columbia, Missouri. He praised the Tigers’ fans for how they showed up. He even highlighted how Missouri’s defense came to play.

But while Hanika caught a pair of touchdown passes for the Jayhawks , the fact that those scores came in a 42-31 defeat stood out to him more. Postgame, as he spoke with reporters, he acknowledged he was upset at how the game ended. He predicted he would watch the film multiple times just on the way home, as he and the team searched for ways to play better.
