EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Michigan State’s football team is coming off a thrilling win over Boston College in double overtime.

The win improved the Spartans to 2-0 on the young season.

In the video above, head coach Jonathan Smith sat down with 6 Sports Director Ian Kress to talk about the win over the Eagles.

Special teams was a topic of discussion after that phase of the game, which played a big role in MSU’s win over BC.

From punter Ryan Eckley pinning two punts inside the five-yard line, to redshirt freshman kicker Martin Connington connecting on the first two field goals of his career, the Spartans were able to find big moments when it mattered most.

MSU welcomes in Youngstown State this weekend and will then begin Big Ten play the following week at USC.
