In a two-game series, the Icemen took down the Red Deer Vipers 9-2 in Red Deer Aug. 30 and 3-0 Sept. 6 at Co-op Place. Article content Article content

With those wins under their belts, they travelled to Sylvan Lake Sept. 5 to take on the Vipers, losing 4-1

After losing to the Wranglers, the Icemen took them to task in a home game Sunday and won 4-2.

“We’re off to a decent start,” said Icemen head coach Marc Gagnon. “We expected to be strong in exhibition.”

With a small talent pool to choose from at tryouts, Gagnon said they had a lot of veterans come back this year.
